When I was a junior high school student, I have examined Andersen. He is called a "King of fairy tales". For example, there are "Little Mermaid", "The Little Match Girl" and "Naked King". All of them were written by him.
His name is Hans Christian Andersen. He was born in1805 in Odense, Denmark. In this city, aristocrats and rich people lived in mansions and poor people lived in small house. He was a son of a poor shoemaker and didn't receive enough education. But his father loved books and read stories from "The Arabian Nights" to him. These stories inspired his imagination. Andersen had thought of a story that he is a son of an aristocrat. And he told it to his friends with a lot of gestures. But his friends said to him that he is just a daydreamer.
Andersen thought, "I will be famous." When he was fourteen years old, he decided to be an actor and went to the capital, Copenhagen. He could not make this dream come true, but some rich people read his dramas and poems. Andersen got their support and went to school. After he became successful as a writer, he received medals and prizes. And he was invited to go abroad. Finally, he became happy.
The most famous story of Andersen is "The Ugly Duckling". The story of this book is an ugly gray duckling overcomes many difficulties and finally becomes a beautiful white swan. I think that this story is a little like his life.(254words)
